South African legend AB de Villiers expressed his admiration for Yashasvi Jaiswal’s talent, recalling the first time he watched him play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). De Villiers observed that Jaiswal has a little more time on his hands to play the ball.

Jaiswal’s remarkable Test debut saw him score a magnificent 171 runs from 387 deliveries, earning him the well-deserved Player-of-the-Match award at the age of 21.

“It’s not every day that a youngster comes out in a Test match in his very first game and scores a hundred. The very first time I watched him play in the IPL, I thought there’s something really special. You can always look at the guy and how much time he has while facing the ball. He’s got time when he’s playing. The pace of the ball is not going to bother him. Even when he’s playing spin, it looks like he’s got time,” shared AB de Villiers on his YouTube channel.
