James Vince played a stunning knock of 101 off just 43 balls as Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by four wickets in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) yesterday in Karachi.

Karachi Kings captain David Warner won the toss and chose to bowl first. However, Multan Sultans batted superbly and posted a huge total of 234/3 in their 20 overs. Their skipper, Mohammad Rizwan, led from the front with an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls, hitting nine fours and five sixes. He was well supported by Kamran Ghulam, who scored a quick 36 off 19, and Michael Bracewell, who stayed not out on 44 off 17 balls.

In reply, the Kings had a shaky start, losing three wickets in the first five overs. But batting at number three, James Vince took control of the chase. He smashed 101 off 43 balls before being run out, hitting 14 fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 234.88. By the time Vince was dismissed, the Kings needed only 14 runs from the last two overs.

“Would have been nice to stay till the end but we bat deep, delighted we got over the line” – James Vince

Khushdil Shah also played a vital role in the chase. He remained calm under pressure and struck a fine 60 off 37 balls, at a strike rate of 162.16. His composed innings ensured Karachi crossed the line with a few balls to spare, sealing a memorable four-wicket win.

Speaking after the match, Player of the Match James Vince said: “Tough chase. When we batted we realized how nice a surface it was. Chasing a big score like that you need to get up with the rate early, had to keep the rate up and manageable. Lots of big moments in the chase but delighted to get over the line. The way Khushdil batted was great and the way he attacked Chris Jordan when the rate was climbing was amazing. Obviously done a lot of hard work, would have been nice to stay till the end but we bat deep, delighted we got over the line in the end.”
