Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India Secretary, and Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), met on the sidelines of an International Council (ICC) meeting in Durban, South Africa on Tuesday to discuss several points pertaining to the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023.
As per sources, the fixture of Asia Cup 2023 was discussed in detail with Ashraf giving his green signal to the much-talked-about ‘hybrid model’. It is expected that the final schedule of the Asia cup will be released soon. The meeting between Shah and Ashraf ended on a cordial note.

While Federal Minister of Pakistan, Eshan Mazari has been giving public statements on why Pakistan should get the entirety of the Asia Cup, it is now understood that the tournament, to be played in 50-over format this time, will go ahead as per the ‘hybrid model’ approved by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Moreover, a Pakistani security delegation is scheduled to visit India to inspect the venues for the 2023 World Cup. The security delegation will be inspecting the venues where Pakistan is set to play the World Cup matches in India.
