Team India’s first Test against England in Leeds is set to begin on 20 June 2025. However, ahead of the series opener, Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar posted a cryptic Instagram story that left many Indian cricket fans shocked and surprised.
The story read: “Karma bides its time. You will always have to watch out. Karma is unforgiving and always gets payback.”
Mukesh recently featured in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), where he played 12 matches for Delhi Capitals and took 12 wickets. He was last seen in action during the first unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, where he picked up 3 wickets for 92 runs in 25 overs, including five maidens.

Mukesh Has Played Three Tests So Far for Team India
Mukesh made his Test debut for India in 2023 against the West Indies. Since then, he has played three Test matches and has taken seven wickets.
The upcoming five-match Test series is a crucial one for India, as it marks the beginning of a new phase without three of their senior players—Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin. In their absence, all eyes will be on how this relatively young Indian squad performs in England, where conditions have historically posed challenges for visiting teams.
Shubman Gill has been appointed captain for the series, with Rishabh Pant named as his deputy. Fast bowler Harshit Rana has also been added to the squad as an extra seam bowling option.
