Karun Nair is set to make a return to Karnataka ahead of the 2025–26 domestic season after a productive two-year stint with Vidarbha. The seasoned batter had joined Vidarbha after moving away from Karnataka but will now don his home colours once again.

During the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, Karun played a vital role in Vidarbha’s title win, scoring 863 runs across 16 innings at an impressive average of 53.93. His campaign included four centuries and two fifties, making him the team’s second-highest run-scorer behind Yash Rathod, who tallied 960 runs at over 60.

While Karnataka welcomed back Karun, they have also seen pacer Vasuki Koushik make a move to Goa. He became one of the two professional cricketers signed by the Goa Cricket Association (GCA) for the new season. Koushik secured a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to facilitate his switch. In the previous season, Koushik played seven Ranji Trophy matches, five Vijay Hazare Trophy games, and 10 T20 encounters for Karnataka. The right-arm pacer impressed across formats, claiming 23 wickets in the Ranji Trophy, eight in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and 18 wickets in T20s. Sources have confirmed both these developments to RevSportz.

These player transfers mark a big shift in the domestic circuit. Vidarbha have suffered a double setback ahead of the new domestic season, with wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma set to represent Baroda, while Karun has returned to Karnataka.

Baroda have also roped in Swapnil Singh, who will join his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates Jitesh and Krunal Pandya in the squad.
