Seattle Orcas’ star batter Shimron Hetmyer once again proved why he is one of the most dangerous finishers in T20 cricket. A day after sealing victory with a last-ball six against MI New York, Hetmyer played another impactful knock to help Seattle beat the Los Angeles Knight Riders by five wickets—with just one ball to spare.

Chasing a challenging target of 203 runs, the Orcas were in trouble as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. But Hetmyer stayed calm and finished the game in style, scoring an unbeaten 64 off just 26 balls. His blistering innings included four boundaries and six sixes, at a staggering strike rate of 246.15. He was once again named Player of the Match.

A Day Earlier: Hetmyer’s Last-Ball Heroics

Just a day earlier, Hetmyer had stunned MI New York with a brilliant unbeaten 97 off 40 balls while chasing a massive target of 238 runs. That knock featured five fours and nine sixes, at a strike rate of 242.50. He smashed the winning six off the final ball of the match, bowled by Kieron Pollard, to seal a thrilling three-wicket victory.

With back-to-back explosive performances, Hetmyer is becoming Seattle’s most valuable player this season.

At the post-match presentation, the Player of the Match, Hetmyer, said, “(On how he is feeling) Tired. Very, very tired. Thankful we could get across the line. Hopefully we can continue doing this.”

He added, “Once we have a decent enough start, it makes it easier for the guys lower down, and I can just go out and bat with a clear mind. Really happy with where my game is at. Leg? Little bit of a worry. Will get it looked at (in a couple of days’ time).”
