
The countdown has begun for the highly awaited Lionel Messi GOAT Tour to India. The Argentina legend and FIFA World Cup winner is set to land in Kolkata in the early hours of 13 December. During his whirlwind three-day trip to India, the Inter Miami captain will also visit Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. Joining Messi on this trip will be Uruguayan star Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul, a pivotal member of Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup-winning team.
Messi will fly into Kolkata on a chartered aircraft from Dubai. On his arrival at the Kolkata airport, he will be escorted from the VVIP tarmac to the Hyatt Regency hotel, where he will be staying for security reasons. A packed schedule awaits him on 13 December, beginning with a meet-and-greet session with the GOAT Concert sponsors from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Immediately afterwards, he will virtually unveil a 70-foot statue from his hotel, this statue is being installed at the Sreebhumi Sporting Club in Lake Town.
Between 11:15–11:25 a.m., the World Cup hero will arrive at Salt Lake Stadium for an event attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan and former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly. Messi will also participate in a football clinic before leaving for Hyderabad at 1 p.m.
In Hyderabad, Messi is scheduled to play in a seven-a-side football match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is also expected to take part. The day will conclude with a musical tribute dedicated to Messi.
On 14 December, Messi will reach Mumbai. He will be present at a Padel Cup event at the Brabourne Stadium from 3:30 p.m. He will then watch a celebrity football match featuring Bollywood personalities starting at 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., the Argentine superstar will visit the Wankhede Stadium to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. His Mumbai schedule also includes attending a charity fashion show and auctioning memorabilia from the 2022 World Cup, along with a Spanish musical event led by Luis Suarez.
Messi’s final stop will be New Delhi on 15 December, where he is expected to meet India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also take part in an event at the Arun Jaitley Stadium from 1:30 p.m. which will also be attended by two Indian cricketers.

- 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.: Virtual inauguration of Messi’s statue
- 11:15 a.m. to 11:25 a.m.: Arrival at Salt Lake Stadium
