Litton leaves IPL Due to Medical Emergency

Litton Das, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ wicketkeeper-batter, has had to fly back to Bangladesh because of an urgent family medical emergency. Litton is unlikely to participate in the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2023, as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had only issued him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) until May 4.

Purchased by KKR for INR 50 lakh, he made his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals (DC), scoring four runs off four balls. After a poor outing against Delhi, he remained on the bench for KKR’s two subsequent matches. KKR confirmed that Litton had to return to Bangladesh, and the franchise conveyed their heartfelt wishes and support to him and his family during this challenging time.

“Litton Das has had to return to Bangladesh earlier today (Friday 28 April) due to an urgent family medical emergency,” said the KKR media release. “Our wishes go out to him and his family to make it through this difficult time.” Litton had a prior arrangement to depart from the tournament early to join the Bangladesh team in England before May 5, in preparation for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Ireland. However, given his current family situation, it is uncertain whether he will be able to participate in the series as planned.
