In a major boost to the global women’s game, the ICC has confirmed that the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Sunday, July 5.

The announcement was made ahead of a launch event at Lord’s today, set to be attended by some of the most prominent names in British women’s sport. This will mark a return to the venue for a women’s global final for the first time since the unforgettable 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title clash between India and England.

The 2026 edition of the T20 World Cup will feature 12 teams and be played across seven renowned venues in England and Wales: Lord’s, Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, Hampshire Bowl, The Oval, and Bristol County Ground.

Scheduled to begin on Friday, June 12, the tournament will span 24 days and 33 matches, culminating in what is expected to be a landmark final at the Home of Cricket. With New Zealand entering the tournament as the defending champions, the expanded competition promises high-quality contests and broader global interest.

This edition of the World Cup is seen as a significant opportunity to further mainstream women’s cricket and build on the sport’s growing popularity across the world.
