Delhi Capitals (DC) all-rounder Vipraj Nigam believes that home conditions don’t give a big advantage to franchises in the IPL because all teams prepare similarly for each venue.
There’s been enough said and talked already about teams not getting the pitches they want in the ongoing season with teams like Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings struggling at home. However, Nigam had a more general reason behind the issue
“Home conditions are not very advantageous in IPL but yes you have an idea as to what to consider,” Nigam said at the pre-match press conference, as quoted by PTI. “There is not much advantage to the team. You are familiar with the weather, ground dimension etc. But all teams have similar preparation…”
Vipraj has said that he sees himself as an all-rounder for the Capitals this season and wants to contribute with bat and ball for the team.
“I consider myself an all-rounder. I have to make contributions with the ball and also with the bat whenever required,” said Vipraj.
Vipraj is looking forward to the clash against LSG and is banking on the know-how he developed by playing in the UPT20 League in the city. “The UP T20 league happened here. So we have played T20 games here. Sameer and I have an idea of the ground so we will try follow the same process we did in UP T20,” he added.
Delhi Capitals will cross swords with the Lucknow Super Giants in their eighth match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
