In the 26th match of the IPL 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are going against the Gujarat Titans (GT). GT is currently at the top of the points table winning four out of five games, while LSG, who are sixth, who just won two of the games are now hoping to use their home ground to move up the ranks.
Who is Himmat Singh ?
Himmat Singh, a 28-year-old promising Delhi cricketer, made his debut for LSG against GT in Lucknow. He is known for his right handed batting and right arm off break bowling style. Himmat has consistently played for Delhi at different age levels and in different formats. He made his List A appearance during the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy and first class appearance during the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy. LSG signed him for the base price of INR 30 lakh at the 2025 IPL mega auction, hoping to strengthen their middle order batting strength.
Before coming on board at LSG, Himmat was in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lineup of 2019 but played no games. Till date, he has yet to play in his first IPL, but his past domestic record tells us he could prove a point for LSG in this year’s season as well. Himmat smashed 197 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate of 148 in the last year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.
All eyes will be on him as he would like to make his name in the biggest T20 League in the World.
