A fiery moment was caught during the high-voltage IPL 2025 clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium B.
LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi dismissed the destructive Abhishek Sharma and followed it up with a send-off gesture, which did not go down well with the SRH batter. Things got heated between the two players, requiring the umpires’ intervention. If LSG lose this game, they will officially be out of the race for the playoffs, with only one spot left in the top four.
Abhishek Sharma was in destructive form, scoring a fabulous 59 runs off just 20 balls, which included four boundaries and six maximums at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 295.00. He was single-handedly keeping SRH in the chase of a huge total of 206 runs. But in the 7.3 over, Rathi bowled a googly outside the off stump, which Abhishek tried to hit through the arc. Attempting to go over extra cover, Abhishek mistimed it, and Thakur took a brilliant running catch.

However, it wasn’t just the wicket that grabbed attention—it was Rathi’s aggressive celebration and a few words directed towards Abhishek that sparked the confrontation.
