The Maharaja T20 Trophy 2025 has been shifted from Bengaluru to Mysuru after the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) failed to obtain clearance from the Bengaluru police to host the event at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The tournament is scheduled to run from 11 to 27 August.

All participating teams have been notified of the change a week in advance. They are currently conducting practice sessions across Bengaluru, except for the Mysuru Warriors, who are already based in the new host city. Meanwhile, teams now have limited time to prepare for the new venues.

Following the announcement of the venue shift, the KSCA is making immediate arrangements to conduct the tournament at the Wadeyar Stadium in Mysuru.

The six-team tournament is set to feature star players from Karnataka who were part of the England Test series, including pacer Prasidh Krishna and batter Karun Nair—both of whom will represent the Mysuru Warriors.

Other prominent names taking part in the tournament include Manish Pandey, Mayank Agarwal, and Devdutt Padikkal, alongside young and emerging players such as R Smaran, Vijaykumar Vyshak, KV Aneesh, and Nikin Jose.

The KSCA is currently organizing the Maharani Women’s T20 League, which began on 4 August in Alur.

Meanwhile, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is expected to host five matches of the upcoming Women’s World Cup later this year, including the tournament opener and one of the semi-finals, scheduled to begin on 30 September. A final decision regarding the hosting arrangements of the World Cup will be taken by the authorities in the near future.
