After sustaining a finger injury during the match against Punjab Kings at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, Marcus Stoinis, the Lucknow Super Giants’ all-rounder, had to leave the field. Following the match, the Australian player gave an update on his condition.
On Friday, Stoinis played an outstanding innings to earn the Player of the Match award. He smashed 72 runs off 40 deliveries, including six fours and five sixes, helping Lucknow Super Giants post 257 runs in their 20 overs, the second-highest total in IPL history.
Stoinis then showcased his medium-pace skills, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan, the Punjab captain, and inflicting a major setback on the home team’s chase.

However, the night ended on a sour note for him as he sustained an injury to his left hand while attempting to catch a ball that Atharva Taide had smashed back at him.
During the post-match presentation, Stoinis provided an update on his injury, stating that his finger was feeling better, but medical scans would be carried out to determine the severity of the injury.
