Fresh off their first-ever SA20 championship win in 2025, MI Cape Town has revealed its list of retained players, maintaining a solid foundation of domestic and overseas talent as they prepare to defend their title in the 2026 season.

The franchise has retained six key players — four South Africans and two internationals — all of whom played crucial roles in their 2025 triumph, both in the SA20 and within the wider Mumbai Indians global network.

Among the local players, Ryan Rickelton and George Linde will continue with the franchise for a fourth straight year, while Corbin Bosch, who joined last season, also stays on. Kagiso Rabada has been picked as the team’s wildcard player, further strengthening their South African core.

On the international front, Rashid Khan, who captained the side to the 2025 title, returns along with Trent Boult. Both were vital to the team’s success. They will be joined by Nicholas Pooran, who has been pre-signed and will make his MI Cape Town debut in 2026.

This group of retained players highlights the franchise’s emphasis on stability, high performance, and fostering a winning mindset both on and off the pitch.

MI Cape Town extends its gratitude to the players for their efforts and commitment during the championship campaign and wishes them continued success.
