As the Mumbai Indians (MI) prepare to host the Gujarat Titans (GT) in a crucial IPL 2025 fixture in Mumbai, a heartwarming moment took place ahead of the match. Mohammed Siraj, the GT pacer, received a special ring from former MI captain Rohit Sharma.

Why Did Siraj Receive the Ring from Rohit Sharma?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video across its social media platforms showing Rohit Sharma presenting a special ring to Siraj in a gesture of appreciation. The moment was part of a tribute to India’s victorious ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, where Siraj was part of the squad.

The video was captioned: “ @mdsirajofficial receives a special ring from #TeamIndia Captain @ImRo45 for his impactful contributions in the team’s victorious ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign .”

Though Siraj featured in only three matches during the tournament and picked up one wicket, his efforts were recognised along with the rest of the squad that brought the T20 World Cup trophy home.

While handing over the ring, Rohit Sharma shared a heartfelt message: “This is for Mohammed Siraj. He played a vital role in our T20 campaign. So I’m proudly presenting him this very, very special ring which was made for all of us. Unfortunately, Siraj wasn’t there earlier, so I would like to present this to Mr. Siraj.”

The moment was filled with smiles and hugs as Siraj accepted the ring and struck celebratory poses, even calling himself a “champion”, proudly wearing the ring in front of cameras.
