Rohit Sharma has not managed a good start to his IPL 2025 campaign for Mumbai Indians (MI) as he scored a duck in the first game vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and eight runs vs Gujarat Titans (GT) in the second game. His inability to give blistering starts, for which he is known, is a major reason behind MI’s two losses in two matches so far.

With an aim for a comeback and to register their first win of this season, MI will lock horns with the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, later today. MI fans will hope to see their former skipper scoring big runs from today onwards, as KKR have been his favourite opponents in this tournament.

In 34 matches against KKR so far, he has scored 1,070 runs at an average of 39.62 with a strike rate of 128.14. KKR is the opponent against whom he has scored the most runs. However, at Wankhede, he has struggled a bit against the same opponent. In 10 matches, he has scored 225 runs at an average of 28.12 with a strike rate of 121.62.

In this KKR side, some bowlers have troubled him previously and can trouble him once again, especially considering the way their spinners bowled in their last game vs Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Here are the three KKR bowlers who can trouble Rohit Sharma in today’s MI vs KKR clash:

Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine, KKR’s veteran all-rounder, has been a lethal option against Rohit over the years in this competition. He has dismissed Rohit eight times so far, while Rohit has scored 143 runs off 134 balls at a strike rate of 106.7.

Varun Chakravarthy

Rohit has scored 47 runs off 45 balls against Varun and has been dismissed only once. But his strike rate of 104.4 suggests how much he has struggled to score freely against the KKR spinner.

Moeen Ali

Rohit has faced Moeen Ali only once in the IPL and was dismissed on the first delivery in the 2019 season.
