The Wankhede stadium witnessed some noteworthy performances by players like Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Jitesh Sharma. With Phil Salt getting out cheaply, all hopes were on Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal and skipper Patidhar to score runs. Kohli scored 67 runs off 42 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Padikkal scored 37 runs off 22 balls. Patidar’s 64 runs off 32 balls and Jitesh Sharma’s 40* (19) were crucial for RCB in posting a target score of 221/5.
Inconsistent Bowling By MI
The Mumbai Indians bowlers were not that successful in restricting the RCB batters. Hardik Pandya took two wickets and Jasprit Bumrah, in his comeback match, went wicketless but bowled an economical spell. But, other bowlers struggled to contain RCB batters and also pick up the wickets as RCB posted that mammoth total of 221.
Krunal Pandya leads the bowling line-up
Krunal Pandya’s four-wicket haul in today’s match helped RCB in claiming the win. The bowler outscored and took the dominance in the bowling line-up. Krunal’s 4/45 performance today came after his match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he registered a 3/29 spell.
