Bengal will once again look to go the distance in the BCCI Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, with experienced all-rounder Mita Paul named captain for the 2025-26 season. The tournament begins on October 8 in Nagpur.
Promising young pacer Titas Sadhu has been appointed vice-captain, while the team will continue to draw on the guidance of legendary fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, who serves as mentor. The coaching staff includes Probal Dutta as chief coach and Ananya Mitra as coach.
Bengal enjoyed a strong campaign last season, finishing runners-up after topping their group. They went on to defeat Madhya Pradesh in the quarterfinals and Himachal Pradesh in the semifinals, before going down to Mumbai in the title clash. This year, the side will be eager to go one step further and lift the trophy.
The squad features a mix of youth and experience, with left-arm spinner Saika Ishaque, all-rounder Dhara Gujjar, last year’s second-highest run-scorer Tanushree Sarkar, wicketkeepers Priyanka Bala and Hrishita Basu, and dependable performers such as Chandrima Biswas, Sasthi Mondal, and Prativa Rana forming the core group. Other names in the line-up include Prativa Mandi, Sushmita Ganguly, Rupal Tiwari, Kashish Agarwal, Monika Mal, Mamata Kisku, and Shrabani Paul.
The standbys are Priya Pandey, Sneha Gupta, Sujata Dey, and Piyali Ghosh.
With a settled leadership group and the presence of young talents alongside seasoned campaigners, Bengal will be keen to build on last year’s success and make a strong push for the coveted title.
