Safety concerns are the main factors that are coming into question whether Australian players will return for the remaining IPL 2025 matches or not. After getting their last match suspended against Punjab Kings due to air strikes in far-off areas of Dharamsala, Delhi Capitals (DC) fast bowler Mitchell Starc flew back to Sydney with his wife Alyssa Healy.
Declining to make any statement to the media, Starc’s manager, however, has given a possible no on the pacer’s return to India. This can be a major blow for the DC, who are currently in the fifth spot of the points table.
Not just him but players like Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head, and others have returned overseas, and their return to India is quite a concern. With uncertainty coming into their return, Cricket Australia (CA) has come in support of its players, giving them the right to make their own decision on returning.
Australia will play South Africa in the WTC 2025 Final from 11 to 15 June
Whatever the decision may be, the board has made sure that it will have no impact on their future career. Not just this, but Australian players like Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Travis Head have an upcoming schedule.
All of them will soon be travelling to the UK to play for the World Test Championship Final against South Africa at Lord’s from 11 to 15 June. Following this, they have a three-test series match in the West Indies to play. So, it’s a tight schedule for the Aussies now, and their return to IPL 2025 also comes into account.
