Moeen Ali fined 25 per cent of match fee for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

England spinner Moeen Ali has been penalized for violating the ICC Code of Conduct during the first Ashes Test against Australia. He has been  fined 25% of his match fee as a consequence.

The breach was determined to be a violation of Article 2.2, which pertains to conduct that undermines the spirit of the game. This violation has resulted in one demerit point being added to Moeen’s disciplinary record, constituting his first offense within the past two years.

The infraction took place in the 89th over of Australia’s first innings at Edgbaston when Moeen applied a drying agent to his bowling hand while fielding near the boundary
