Mohammad Rizwan, who was not selected in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, has now joined Caribbean Premier League (CPL) side St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

The franchise welcomed the Pakistani wicketkeeper-batter warmly with a post on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The caption read: “Welcome to the Patriots, Mohammad Rizwan. A class act, a proven performer, and now one of us. Let’s do something special this season!”

The Patriots have endured a tough start to their CPL campaign, managing just one win in their first four games. With two points, they currently sit in fourth place on the points table. Their next fixture is against the Barbados Royals on August 22, and it remains to be seen whether Rizwan makes his debut in that clash.

This will be Rizwan’s first appearance in the CPL. He becomes the Patriots’ third Pakistani player, joining Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi. Rizwan has been drafted in as a replacement for Fazalhaq Farooqi, who is unavailable due to national duty.

The 33-year-old brings vast international experience with him. In 106 T20Is for Pakistan, Rizwan has scored 3,414 runs at an average of 47.41 and a strike rate of 125.37. His record includes one century and 30 half-centuries, with a highest score of an unbeaten 104. Behind the stumps, he has taken 55 catches and effected 12 stumpings.

Across his overall T20 career, Rizwan has featured in 286 matches, scoring 8,421 runs at an average of 42.96 and a strike rate of 125.85. His tally includes three centuries and 69 fifties, with a top score of 110 not out. He has also registered 187 catches and 47 stumpings in the format.
