Mohsin Khan, the pacer for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), delivered a remarkable match-winning spell against the Mumbai Indians (MI) and dedicated his performance to his seriously ill father, who had been hospitalized for the past ten days. Mohsin disclosed that his father had been in the ICU and expressed hope that his father must have watched his son play a pivotal role in LSG’s thrilling victory over MI at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 16, a win that has opened the play off doors for the Lucknow franchise.
In just his second game of the season, the left-arm pacer was entrusted with the task of defending 11 runs in the final over against two of Mumbai’s power hitters Tim David and Cameron Green. Despite David and Green having smashed Naveen-ul-Haq for 19 runs in the penultimate over, Mohsin remained unfazed. He displayed exceptional skill with his ability to bowl perfect Yorkers, conceding only five runs in the last over and securing two valuable points for LSG.

Khan was a find of the last season of the IPL having picked 14 wickets with an averaged of 14.09 but has since been sidelined with an injury and had to miss the entire domestic season on account of it.
Mohsin’s success owed largely to his impressive combination of slower deliveries, accurate yorkers, and variations in length. His skillful execution ensured that the 24-year-old played a significant role in his team’s hard-fought five-run victory. Throughout the match, Mohsin’s thoughts remained with his ailing father, making his exceptional performance all the more poignant and meaningful.

“Been a tough time as I was injured, playing after a year. My father got discharged from the ICU yesterday and he was in the hospital for the last 10 days and I did it for him, he would have been watching,” said Mohsin Khan after the match.
