Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has been discharged after undergoing a successful surgery on his left knee in a Mumbai hospital. After the procedure, he was discharged from the hospital on Thursday night. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the success of Dhoni’s knee surgery performed by a team of doctors.
As first reported by RevSportz, Dhoni was suffering with knee injury throughout the course of IPL 2023 and was set to undergo multiple tests before going under the knife to mend his knee issue.
Throughout IPL 2023, Dhoni battled with a knee injury that persisted. While the injury did not affect his wicketkeeping, it visibly affected his batting performance. The 41-year-old was noticeably distressed while batting, resulting in him being pushed down the batting order. Running between the wickets also proved to be a challenge due to the knee injury.
“MS Dhoni’s surgery is successful and he is recovering well. He is in good mood and nothing more to add at this moment. The main point is the surgery is successful. We all wish him a speedy recovery,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanath told RevSportz.
Looking ahead to the next IPL season, which is a year away, Dhoni’s primary focus will be on making a complete recovery before making any decisions about his future participation. Taking the necessary time to recuperate will be crucial for Dhoni, ensuring that he is in optimal condition for the following season.
