It’s been ten years since Rohit Sharma became the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023). Taking over the role from Ricky Ponting during the 2013 season, Rohit has now completed a decade as the skipper.

In a video shared by the franchise, Mumbai’s support staff praised Rohit’s leadership and spoke about the profound impact he has had on the team. Kieron Pollard, the batting coach, acknowledged Rohit’s growth as a leader and expressed appreciation for having him on the team.

“He’s grown as a leader,” said Pollard. “I mean he’s grown into leadership. Obviously, it was entrusted onto him in 2013 in the middle of a season. He was still pretty young at that point in time.”
