My job is to score runs, whatever the conditions: Labuschagne

Marnus Labuschagne, the Australian middle-order bat, has warned England about the strength of his side’s bowling attack, stating that they will face one of the best in the world as they try to reclaim the Ashes. Australia’s line-up includes Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and Nathan Lyon, all formidable bowlers.

Ben Stokes, the captain of England Test side, has led the team to 10 wins out of 12 matches since taking over from Joe Root. He has voiced his preference for the Ashes series to be played on ‘fast and flat pitches’ across the five matches.

‘I don’t care what wickets are rolled out. My job is to score runs, whatever the conditions. But if they feel that’s their best way to beat us, we’ll certainly take it on. We have one of, if not the best, bowling attacks in the world, so if you want to take us on at our own game, then I commend them if they can get on top of a high-quality attack,” Labuschagne told the Daily Mail.
