Uncapped Indian batter Rinku Singh attributed his remarkable IPL 2023 performance, particularly his special knock against Gujarat Titans, as the reason behind his call-up to the Indian squad for the upcoming Asian Games.
As Kolkata Knight Riders’ top scorer with 474 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 59.25, Rinku’s outstanding form and memorable display of hitting five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal in the final over propelled him to instant fame.
“My life changed after those five sixes. People knew me but not that much. But after those five sixes, now a lot of people know. It feels quite good,” Rinku said in a video posted on the BCCI website.
“My family were very happy as they would say, “Play for India, we want to watch you.” Everything is good and everyone danced when I got selected. It was a special innings and people began to talk about me,” Rinku further added.
