England Women captain Nat Sciver-Brunt made history on 8 August 2025 as she became the first batter to reach the 1,000-run mark in The Hundred. The all-rounder achieved the milestone during the Trent Rockets vs Birmingham Phoenix match in the ongoing Women’s Hundred. She has now scored 1,031 runs in 30 matches at an average of 49.09.
However, her 64 runs off 40 balls weren’t enough to lead the Rockets to victory, as they ended up scoring 137/6 while chasing a 149-run target. Opener Bryony Smith scored 29 off 19, but the other batters failed to make significant contributions, and the Rockets fell short by 11 runs. Phoenix’s Emma Lamb was declared Player of the Match for her 55 off 32 balls.
Notably, irrespective of men’s or women’s cricket, Nat Sciver-Brunt is the first batter to reach the 1,000-run milestone in this tournament. For the men, Manchester Originals player Phil Salt is the closest, with 995 runs, followed by James Vince, Ben Duckett, Dawid Malan, and Will Jacks.
