Roger Binny, the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and vice-president Rajeev Shukla will travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup starting on August 30. They have been invited by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Top BCCI officials visiting Pakistan is significant, given the tension between the countries. However, it’s important to note that no discussion regarding India-Pakistan bilateral cricket is expected during this visit. The BCCI has made it clear that such discussions would require the approval of the respective governments.
In the Asia Cup, Pakistan will host four matches and Sri Lanka the remaining nine. The Pakistan leg is scheduled to commence on August 30. Despite Pakistan having the hosting rights for the tournament, a substantial portion of the matches were relocated to Sri Lanka due to India’s refusal to play in Pakistan.
