Pakistan defeated Australia by 111 runs in the final T20I of the three-match series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to complete a clean sweep, winning the series 3-0.

Mohammad Nawaz’s five-wicket haul was instrumental in Pakistan’s victory.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost two wickets early, but then Babar Azam and Saim Ayub took charge and added a partnership of 69 runs off 45 balls, providing much-needed stability to the innings. Babar stitched another important partnership of 57 runs off 28 balls with Shadab Khan, which took Pakistan to a strong total of 207/6 in their 20 overs.

Ayub was the highest run-getter for Pakistan, scoring 56 off 37 balls, including six fours and two sixes, at a strike rate of 151.35, while Babar remained unbeaten on 50 off 36 balls. Shadab also contributed with a quickfire 46 off 19 balls. Ben Dwarshuis took two wickets for Australia.

In reply, Nawaz and Shaheen Afridi ran through the Australian top order, and none of the Aussie batters could put up any fight. Nawaz was lethal for Pakistan, finishing with figures of 5/18 in his four overs at an economy rate of 4.50, while Shaheen picked up two wickets in three overs. Australia were bundled out for 96.

Nawaz was adjudged the Player of the Match, while captain Salman Agha was named the Player of the Series.
