
Rishabh Pant played a solid knock of unbeaten 64 against South Africa A on Day three as India need 156 more runs to win the first unofficial Test of the two-match series, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1, in Bengaluru.
South Africa A started their day in a poor fashion as they lost their opener Jordan Hermann before adding any run to their overnight score of 30. After that, there was a partnership of 54 runs between Zubayr Hamza and Lesego Senokwane. Both the batters made 37 each. None of the other batters could make any impact except Tshepo Moreki, who showed some resistance, scoring 25. For India A, Tanush Kotian was excellent with the ball as he took four wickets. Anshul Kamboj, who recently played a Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England, picked up three wickets. South Africa A were bundled out for 199.
Chasing a target of 275, India had a poor start as they lost their top three batters for just 32 runs. After that, Pant and Rajat Patidar did the job of rebuilding the Indian innings and they stitched a partnership of 87 runs. Patidar was dismissed after scoring 28 towards the end of the day. Pant played some brilliant shots throughout his knock, hitting eight fours and two sixes.
