Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) earlier today in Mullanpur in the ongoing IPL 2025. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 73 off 54 balls, as RCB successfully chased down the 158-run target in 18.5 overs. However, it wasn’t just his performance that caught attention—a video of Kohli’s animated celebration in front of PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer has now gone viral on social media.

The moment occurred on the fifth delivery of the 19th over, when RCB’s Jitesh Sharma hit Nehal Wadhera for a six to seal the win. Kohli, at the non-striker’s end, celebrated the victory with an animated gesture directed toward Iyer, who was fielding nearby. The celebration appeared playful, but it sparked speculation online about possible tension between the two Indian teammates.

Here is the video:

When Iyer walked over for the customary post-match handshake, he didn’t look entirely pleased. Their exchange seemed slightly tense, though Kohli was seen trying to lighten the mood. Despite the awkward moment, Iyer was graceful during the post-match presentation, giving credit to Kohli and his team for their performance.

In his last three innings in the IPL 2025, Shreyas Iyer has now scored only 13 runs

“Credit to Virat and the boys. We keep talking about adapting to the wicket. Few of the other middle-order batsmen need to step up; need to take the bull by the horns,” said Iyer.

With the bat, it was another rough outing for the PBKS skipper, who managed just six runs. In his last three innings, Iyer has now scored only 13 runs. Addressing his recent struggles, he added: “I’m in a great mind space. Just that I need to cross ten runs. I just need to be free-flowing as well. We’ve got six days of break, so it’s important we go back to the drawing board. It’s important to assess our body as well.”
