Earlier today, reports of Virat Kohli’s Test retirement made headlines across social media, as it was revealed that the veteran Team India batter has informed the BCCI that he is not willing to continue his career in the red-ball format. Ahead of a crucial Test series in England, the news came as a surprise, and fans went berserk on social media. Now, Ambati Rayudu has posted a tweet that instantly went viral on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In the tweet, Rayudu was seen urging Kohli not to retire from Test cricket and to continue playing for Team India. “Virat Kohli please don’t retire… The Indian team needs you more than ever. You have so much more in the tank. Test cricket will not be the same without you walking out to battle it out for Team India.. Please reconsider..,” the post read.

Virat Kohli was in good form for RCB in the IPL 2025
However, reports also suggest that the BCCI has asked Kohli to reconsider the decision once again, but he is yet to respond. A few days ago, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the longest format of the game, and now, the reports of Kohli retiring from the same format have raised eyebrows among fans.
Virat Kohli was in good form with the bat in IPL 2025, a tournament currently suspended due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), he consistently contributed with the bat and was one of the major reasons behind RCB’s strong all-round performance in the tournament.
