Manchester United’s Argentine star, Alejandro Garnacho, is most likely to leave the club ahead of the next season after reportedly falling out with manager Ruben Amorim following the UEFA Europa League Final loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The winger is currently vacationing in Asia and has shared several photos on social media from his trip.
Addressing the speculation about Garnacho’s potential next club, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided updates on his YouTube channel. Garnacho is said to be attracting serious interest from both Premier League clubs and foreign sides.
Romano revealed that former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who is now the new Bayer Leverkusen head coach, is keen on signing Garnacho, although financial hurdles may make the deal difficult.
Romano said: “But I wanted to confirm an indication of the future of Garnacho. The priority of the player would be to stay in the Premier League. So there is interest from Bayer Leverkusen but the understanding is that financially despite the appreciation of Erik ten Hag, who considers Garnacho a dream target for Bayer Leverkusen, is too expensive. Also in terms of his salary not just in terms of transfer fee.”
“Premier League is a concrete possibility for Alejandro Garnacho” – Fabrizio Romano
Romano further added: “So at the moment, Bayer Leverkusen looks like an almost impossible solution for Alejandro Garnacho. They called to be informed of the situation but looks very complicated. There is still interest from the Premier League. So Premier League is a concrete possibility for Alejandro Garnacho with some movement taking place behind the scenes with meetings with his agents. So I will be more clear in the next few days.”
He also revisited the interest shown in Garnacho earlier this year: “But I can tell you that the player is giving priority to the Premier League at this moment even more than in January because in January there was the possibility with Napoli. That deal didn’t happen because Garnacho was not agreeing on personal terms. So there are several discussions about that but the priority of Alejandro Garnacho at this moment is to stay in the Premier League.”
Chelsea is also reportedly interested in the Manchester United winger.
