Ajinkya Rahane, who finished the second day of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final unbeaten on 29, is batting with a finger injury, as revealed by Harbhajan Singh, the former Indian off-spinner. The injury occurred on the last ball of the 22nd over of the Indian innings, when Rahane, batting on 17, was struck by a vicious delivery from Pat Cummins.
Prior to the start of day three, Rahane was observed warming up with his finger heavily taped, indicating the concern with his finger.
“I had a chat with Kamlesh Jain (Team India’s physio) and he told me that (Ajinkya) Rahane is managing a finger injury,” Harbhajan said, while speaking to Star Sports before the start of Day 3.
Despite the injury, Rahane hasd displayed a positive approach to his batting during his comeback Test. Although India lost quick wickets, Rahane showcased his ability to handle challenging situations, and was India’s crisis man, contributing valuable runs.
