India’s tour of South Africa started on a damp note as the first T20I between the two countries at Kingsmead, Durban, was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of incessant rain. Even the toss event didn’t take place.
As per the forecast, rain showers were expected to lash Durban through the course of the day. Unfortunately, the prediction turned out to be true. As per weather patterns, alongside January, December is also one of the wetter months in Durban, with an average of 14.2 days of rain during that month.
The second T20I of the series will be played at St. George’s Park on December 12, while the third and final match of the rubber will be held at the Wanderers on December 14.
