Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has retuned to the national squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh. He was rested for the one-off Test against Bangladesh, in the backdrop of the ace spinner having a hectic schedule, which included playing in the IPL 2023.
In an exciting development, Izharulhaq Naveed, a leg-spinner who gained recognition in Australia’s Big Bash League last season, has received his first ODI call-up. However, left-arm wrist-spinner Noor Ahmad, who was part of Afghanistan’s squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, was not included this time. Shahidullah, Zia-ur-Rehman, Wafadar, Mohammad Saleem, and Sayed Shirzad are among the newcomers who have earned their places in the squad.
