Jammu & Kashmir pacer Rasikh Salam will represent Baroda in the upcoming domestic season, having received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). The move was confirmed by Brigadier Anil Gupta, a member of the JKCA administration.
“Yes, we have given him the NOC. I don’t remember exactly when it was issued, but I believe it was done maybe five to six days ago. If he wants to play elsewhere, what difference does it make to us? We have given NOCs to six players this time. We have enough talent and a large pool of players,” Gupta told IANS.
Rasikh made his List A debut for J&K in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy on October 3, 2018. He played his first Ranji Trophy match later that year on December 30. His T20 debut came on February 22 in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
In First-Class cricket, Rasikh has played five matches and taken 13 wickets at an average of 25.23. In List A matches, he has claimed 13 wickets from 10 games at an average of 37.46 and an economy rate of 5.80. He has also featured in 36 T20 matches, taking 45 wickets at an average of 23.13 and an economy rate of 8.52.
In the IPL, Rasikh has turned out for several franchises, including Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, and most recently Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2025 season — although he played only two matches this year.
A source close to the development told IANS that left-arm spin all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who captains Baroda in domestic cricket and played a key role in RCB’s title-winning campaign this year, may have influenced Rasikh’s move.
“It is for sure that Krunal would have helped Rasikh move to Baroda since they were teammates in RCB this year. He wants to win a trophy in the coming domestic season and is focused on building a unit for that purpose,” the source added.
