Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is set to play for Saurashtra in the second round of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, which begins on October 25 in Rajkot. His return will be a big boost for the team as they prepare to face Madhya Pradesh on a pitch expected to aid spinners. In the last match at Rajkot, spinners collectively took 31 of the 35 wickets, and Jadeja’s inclusion will make Saurashtra’s attack even stronger.

In the last home series against the West Indies, Jadeja was named Player of the Series for his all-round brilliance. His contributions throughout the two-Test series helped India whitewash the visitors and secure their first Test series win after a year. Despite that performance, he was left out of the squad for the ongoing ODI series against Australia.

Jadeja will now join his spin twin, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who took ten wickets in the last match against Karnataka. The two left-arm spinners are expected to play a major role once again in Rajkot. During his last Ranji appearance earlier this year, Jadeja claimed 12 wickets in two matches against Delhi, including a brilliant seven-wicket haul for just 38 runs.

This match will serve as preparation for the two-Test home series against South Africa. The world’s number one ranked Test all-rounder will join up with the national squad ahead of the first Test in Kolkata, which starts on November 14.
