Tim David is proving to be the perfect finisher for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025 as the tournament progresses. In today’s clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, he smashed a crucial unbeaten 37 off just 20 balls.
RCB had a flying start, reaching 53/0 in just the first three overs. But things quickly went downhill as they collapsed to 117/6 in 14.5 overs. That’s when the Aussie power-hitter stepped in. At first, it looked like he might struggle. DC bowlers were mixing their pace well, and the pitch started to slow down as the game went on. Even the spinners were getting some grip.
Tim David has an average of 92.00 and a strike rate of 195.74 after four innings so far in the IPL 2025
But David held his nerve. He stayed at the crease and delivered a fine knock—37 not out from 20 balls, including two fours and four sixes. In the 19th over, he attacked DC skipper Axar Patel with two sixes and one four, adding 21 runs in that over. Then, in the final over, he smashed two more sixes off Mukesh Kumar and ended the innings with a four on the last ball. Thanks to his powerful finish, RCB posted 163/7 in 20 overs.
Tim David’s consistent impact as a finisher has been a major plus for RCB this season. Earlier, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on a slow pitch in Chennai, he scored 22* off just 8 balls with one four and three sixes, at a strike rate of 275.00. After that, he scored 32 off 18 balls against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Bengaluru, striking at 177.77. Now today, he batted at a strike rate of 185.00 and once again helped RCB reach a fighting total.
