Rajasthan Royals (RR) needed 206 runs to win in Bengaluru against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in today’s IPL 2025 clash. A blistering start was required, and the pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered with 52 runs in 4.2 overs for the first wicket.

Even after Vaibhav got out for 16 (12), Jaiswal continued to play his shots before getting out on the fifth delivery of the sixth over. Josh Hazlewood, who eventually ended up with a four-fer, dismissed him for 49 (19). Jaiswal batted at a strike rate of 257.89, hitting seven fours and three sixes.

When he got out, RR were going strong with 72 runs on the board in 5.5 overs, having lost only two wickets. However, they eventually failed to chase down the target and lost the game by 11 runs. Despite some early setbacks this season, Jaiswal has shown great consistency in the last four games. Before today’s 49-run knock, he had scored three consecutive fifties.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has now scored 356 runs in nine games, including four fifties

After today’s innings, Jaiswal is in seventh place in the Orange Cap race. In nine matches, he has scored 356 runs at an average of 39.55 and a strike rate of 148.95, including four fifties.

But, like in previous games, despite providing a solid start, the other RR batters failed to capitalise on that platform and ultimately failed to chase down the target. With this loss, RR remain in eighth position with four points in nine games.
