Richa Ghosh, the wicketkeeper-batter, was recalled as the BCCI announced the women’s squad for the Hangzhou Asian Games. Renuka Singh, who starred at the World T20 earlier this year, has been left out because of a stress fracture.
After missing the Bangladesh tour, Richa has earned her place back in the team for this multi-nation tournament. Leading the squad will be Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana serving as her deputy.
The standby list includes Harleen Deol, Kashvee Gautam, Sneh Rana, Saika Ishaque, and Pooja Vastrakar.
The women’s cricket competition will be held in the T20 format from September 19 to 28.
