Riyan Parag named Assam captain for Namibia tour

Impressed by his captaincy in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals (RR), Riyan Parag has been named the captain of Assam. The team is preparing for their upcoming Namibia tour for a five-match one-day series. The tour begins on June 21 at the FNB Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The remaining four matches are scheduled for June 23, 25, 27, and 29 respectively.

The international exposure will surely test Parag’s form along with his captaincy. The player is coming off an impressive season, having scored 393 runs at a strike rate of 166.52. His performance and leadership for the Royals in the absence of Sanju Samson highlighted the ability and quality he possesses.

Some key players from domestic cricket like Denish Das, Akash Sengupta, and Parvej Musaraf, will join him.
