On a remarkable night in IPL 2025 during Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Vaibhav Suryavanshi marked his name in the record books with his sensational performance against GT. Where RR won the toss and opted to bowl first, GT managed to set the target to 210 runs and chasing that, RR’s 14-year-old fearless opener announced his arrival in style by smashing a brilliant century in IPL 2025.

Bought by RR for ₹1.10 crore at the mega auction, the young prodigy justified every penny with a breathtaking innings that stunned the cricketing world. Vaibhav reached his century in just 35 balls, recording the second-fastest century in IPL history, only behind Chris Gayle’s iconic 30-ball century in 2013. Vaibhav hit also the fastest century scored by an Indian in the history of IPL. Vaibhav also scored the fastest half century in IPL 2025, 50 runs off 17 balls, the second fastest for the Rajasthan Royals and the fastest against GT.

Finishing with 101 runs off 38 balls, Vaibhav’s destructive innings included seven boundaries and 11 maximums at a sensational strike rate of 265.79. At just 14 years and 32 days, he also became the youngest player to score a century in the IPL.

Ultimately, he was named the Player of the Match, and RR won the game by eight wickets with 25 balls remaining. While talking to the broadcaster after the match, GT skipper Shubman Gill said, “It was Suryavanshi’s day, his hitting was tremendous, and he made full use of it.”
