The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Board have announced a 16-member squad, with Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dilshan Madushanka returning to the setup. Both players last featured in the ODI series against New Zealand in November 2024.

Samarawickrama recently played in Sri Lanka’s A-list squad for the 50-over tri-series in Abu Dhabi. The wicketkeeper-batter was the second-highest run-scorer in the series, amassing 197 runs at an average of 98.50 across four innings. Madushanka, the left-arm pacer, was also part of that series, claiming a total of eight wickets in four innings, with best figures of 4/37.

In addition to Samarawickrama and Madushanka, Milan Rathnayake is also expected to join the squad but remains subject to a fitness assessment. Rathnayake featured in Sri Lanka’s first Test against Bangladesh but was ruled out of the second match due to a side strain.

Players to Miss Out on Bangladesh ODI Series

Nuwanidu Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, and Mohamed Shiraz have been left out of the squad for the Bangladesh ODIs. All three were part of the squad for the Australia ODI series earlier this year.

The ODI series is set to begin on 2 July, coinciding with the second Test between England and India. The opening match will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, followed by the second fixture on 5 July. The third ODI is scheduled for 10 July in Pallekele. A three-match T20I series will follow, for which the squad is yet to be announced.
