Pakistan’s all-rounder, Shadab Khan, is confident that his team can handle the pressure of the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup match against India in Ahmedabad. According to the leg-spinner, the Pakistani players possess strong mental resilience and are prepared to face any challenges that come their way.

“We won’t have the crowd support in India. In that sense we’ll have to be very strong mentally. The way our players are, mentally strong, I think we’ll have a good tournament,” Shadab told Saj Sadiq in an exclusive interview.

“Winning the World Cup in India will be like the icing on the cake… Definitely, whichever team comes will come to win the tournament, but the key is how you as a team play and how you start because we will have to play against every team; it’s a great opportunity for all the teams,” added Shadab.

It’s worth noting that the high octane World Cup clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan’s past record against India in the 50-over World Cup is not something that is talked about favourably, with the former having lost all seven encounters against the latter.
