As India A and senior team announcements loom, questions arise as to who makes the cut for the two teams. While fans may assume that the India A and senior Test squads will be fundamentally different, sources have confirmed that selectors are not treating them as separate teams but rather as extensions of one another.

Sources have revealed that time is of the essence, and the maximum number of players from the main team will be part of the India A squad. In the past, key players would often miss out on crucial game time as a next-gen team would play the India A games. But now, selectors are treating the two four-day matches between India A and the England Lions as unofficial warm-up games ahead of the five-match Test series starting June 20. The goal is to help players acclimatise as much as possible before the series begins. As previously reported on RevSportz, some players may even leave early for England, something that depends on player availability and a possible IpL resumption.
