India A team selection is likely to be pushed back by a few days in order to have clarity on players availability. With the IPL being suspended for a week due to tensions between India and Pakistan and then the schedule being pushed back, several players in the IPL will have games till at least the play off stage. Unless there is clarity on the players and their schedule in the IPL, it will become difficult for the selectors to announce the A team. As a result it is now likely that the India A team announcement is held back by a few days.

The selectors are clear that they want the main squad players to participate in the India A games and want an overlap between the two teams as preparation for the gruelling five-match Test series. There is still a possibility of many India team players to be a part of the A team.

Hence the selectors will have to wait a few days to make the selections while taking into account players commitment to their respective franchises.
