Team India are currently having intense practice sessions ahead of the England series, and now the BCCI has shared a video—which went viral instantly on social media—where both Team India coach Gautam Gambhir and newly appointed Test captain Shubman Gill were seen having a clear chat during a team huddle.
Gambhir welcomed Team India’s new strength and conditioning coach, Adrian le Roux. He was also heard saying that first Test call-ups are very special, and he warmly welcomed the newcomers, Sai Sudharsan and Arshdeep Singh, who will be playing in whites for Team India for the first time.
Gambhir praised the never-say-die attitude of Karun Nair and welcomed him back to the team. Notably, Nair last played a Test match for India on March 25, 2017, against Australia. He remains the only Indian after Virender Sehwag to score a triple century in Test cricket.

The series starts on 20 June at Leeds
Gambhir also congratulated Shubman Gill, who will be captaining Team India in whites for the first time, and Rishabh Pant, who is also part of the leadership group. Gambhir told the team that they could look at the tour in two ways: one, as a challenge since they will be without the services of their three most experienced players; and two, as a phenomenal opportunity to achieve something special for the country.
Gill also addressed the team, emphasising the importance of preparation. He stated that every net session should be meaningful and urged the players to play every ball with a purpose.
The first match of the five-match Test series between India and England will begin on June 20 in Leeds.
