It was a day to remember for the West Indies batting line-up as both John Campbell 115 (199) and Shai Hope 103 (214) registered their centuries. In the post-stumps press conference on Sunday, Campbell had answered the media’s questions and said “the match is still on” and that the West Indies were still optimistic.

The optimism proved to be the game-changer for the visitors as Campbell and Hope continued their fightback after returning to the crease this morning. The duo continued their partnership for the first hour of the day and stitched an association of 177 (295) runs until Campbell lost his wicket right before lunch.

Hope was then joined by the skipper Roston Chase and the two continued the streak of resilience. Another partnership blossomed as Hope completed his century. The two added 59 (122) runs. It was Kuldeep Yadav once again who picked up the most wickets in the innings, three wickets with an economy of 3.83. Jasprit Bumrah too provided two late breakthroughs as he picked the wickets of Joel Warrican and Anderson Phillip.

Ultimately the session belonged to West Indies once again, as Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales stitched a 50-run, 10th wicket partnership and returned to the dressing at tea unbeaten. Indian bowlers, tired under the Delhi sun, continued to look for wickets as the Carribeans offered resistance.
